Welcome to Bar Medusa
Bar Medusa is Wellington’s favourite alternative bar and live music venue. Located in the heart of the capital, our patrons can expect a friendly atmosphere and a home away from home all whilst sampling some of NZ’s most creative performers. Since we opened our doors in 2009, we’ve hosted some acts from around the world as well as some of the best NZ has to offer.
The venue is internationally recognised as a core component of New Zealand metal scene, a cornerstone for rock and a place to see the future of alternative kiwi music, be it hip hop, acoustic, punk, electronic or indie to name a few. Recently Bar Medusa has welcomed the local comedy scene onto our stage, providing more opportunities for performers and bringing laughs to our regular customers.
